Bosch Sensortec GmbH is a fully owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH dedicated to the world of consumer electronics; offering a complete portfolio of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) based sensors and solutions that enable mobile devices to feel and sense the world around them. Bosch Sensortec develops and markets a broad portfolio of MEMS sensors, solutions and systems for applications in smart phones, tablets, wearable devices, and various products within the IoT (Internet of Things).
We are passionate about improving people’s lifestyle and well-being through the MEMS technology – again and again, every day. We understand users’ needs and customers’ requirements. Find out more about the applications we make possible for smartphones, tablets, wearables, AR/VR, smart homes and the IoT. Our success in MEMS sensors and solutions is built on a remarkable team driven by passion, innovation and flexibility.
We create innovative sensing solutions that enable consumer electronic devices to sense the world around us. Discover our sensor portfolio to learn more about our MEMS products.
Bosch designs and manufactures MEMS sensors 100 percent in-house. All MEMS sensors are manufactured in Reutlingen, Germany. The MEMS sensor manufacturing process takes more than three months and entails several hundred steps.
These tiny sensors are manufactured under exacting cleanroom conditions, as even the smallest airborne particles would disrupt the delicate sensor production. One cubic foot of air – about 30 liters – may contain no more than one particle weighing half a microgram. Our 100-percent in-house sensor production thus allows us to adhere to our high standards of quality and sustainability.
There’s at least one Bosch MEMS sensor in more than half the smartphones on the planet, and five of our sensors on average in every new car. And there are millions more Bosch MEMS sensing solutions in drones, game consoles, fitness wristbands and vacuum-cleaning robots. We also offer sensing solutions that enable smart home and industrial IoT applications.
