3daysofdesign is an exclusive event where the press, bloggers, buyers, designers, architects and design enthusiasts visit the Danish capital to experience new concepts from our curated selection of brands from Denmark and worldwide. The festival takes place in the showrooms, shops, streets, workshops and backyards of Copenhagen, as the host for a growing community of design lovers getting together to celebrate creativity.
It all began in 2013 as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen had lacked a proper design event, ever since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.
Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavian. You can look forward to seeing cutting-edge concepts from new and established names in lifestyle, design, furniture and interior design. Get a preview of new product launches. Learn about upcoming trends on the horizon. Meet the players behind forward-thinking ideas worth knowing. And network with like-minded people with a passion for design.
The festival provides a platform for both emerging and established design brands from Denmark and abroad to share their talent. The diverse programme is full of unexpected surprises as well as familiar favourites. There will be opportunities to meet the designers shaping our tomorrow and greet the legacy names who’ve paved the way before them.
During the last 10 years, 3daysofdesign has brought new names into the spotlight through its democratic, non-profit programming structure, and through our teams’ passionate and personal support for their work. 3daysofdesign has grown to +290 brands exhibiting across 13 Design Districts. To accommodate the largest celebration of design (since it all began in 2013) the festival spreads into new areas of the city including two new hubs at Refshaleøen and Carlsberg Byen.
While the festival is a must-see design destination for professionals, it is also open to the general public. The programme is carefully curated yet inclusive: exhibitions are open daily from 10:00-18:00 and are free for anyone to attend. Come and meet the minds behind the designs, see new products and interiors, and be inspired by the innovative thinkers leading the future of the design industry.
