Auto Shanghai, officially known as the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, is a biennial international automobile show that alternates with the Beijing Auto Show (Auto China) as China’s yearly international automotive exhibition. As one of the leading international automotive trade fairs Auto Shanghai offers an excellent platform to car makers and automotive suppliers for the presentation of new technologies and products as well as for the exchange of information and the establishment of new business contacts.

Since its launch in 1985 Auto Shanghai has developed into the most important trade fair for the automotive industry in Asia, each time recording increasing numbers of exhibitors and visitors. At Auto Shanghai 2019 over 1,000 exhibitors from 20 countries presented their products and services on 360,000 square metres of exhibition space to more than 1 million visitors from China and abroad.

At the beginning, Auto Shanghai was a window for China to see the world. Now it has grown into a window for the world to see China. The growth of Auto Shanghai reflects the growth of China’s automobile industry. It has promoted the popularization of automobile culture, stimulated automobile consumption, meanwhile playing an important role in promoting the development of China’s automobile industry. During the show, the core market of global automobile consumption is turning to China, and Chinese consumers are gradually becoming the “protagonist” of the global automobile market. The competition of the new era of automobile has begun. China Machinery Industry Federation is the special supporter of the exhibition while the Society of Automotive Engineers of China is the supporter.
