The IES Street & Area Lighting Conference is the only conference of its kind dedicated to improving the outdoor lighting business of electric utilities and energy service companies. The conference has a highly focused attendee base that includes facility managers, technical and marketing specialists, lighting consultants and engineers from electric utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, energy service companies and manufacturers. These outdoor lighting professionals come from across the country and the industry. All are vitally interested in learning about products and services and include decision-makers from investor-owned regulated electric utilities, unregulated marketing affiliates, cooperatives, municipal utilities and independent contractors and consultants.
The Illuminating Engineering Society’s outdoor lighting conference endeavors to bring experiences, education, networking and inspiration together to foster personal and career growth. It provides a range of educational programs and insightful presentations to explore outdoor lighting at the professional design level. A review of industry standards, fixture selection, specification design criteria and considerations, regulatory issues, and design concepts will be discussed. A look to the future, including current and future possibilities for lighting technologies and control systems will be included. As more and more cities are turning to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) technologies to improve municipal services, reduce operation cost and create additional sources of revenue, trends and practices in networked lighting controls and Smart City integration will be also be covered.
The Street and Area Lighting Conference will allow attendants to develop an understanding of the advantages of a wide range of topics associated with outdoor lighting. With a community feel, the conference creates a great opportunity to network with industry peers through seminars with speaker Q+A, breakout sessions to discuss issues in-depth, an exhibit hall and many networking events with speakers and peers in a comfortable and open atmosphere.
