Cyclone Lighting, an established leader in the manufacture of outdoor luminaires, is pleased to announce its Mochi luminaire has won a GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Award in the 17th edition of the competition. It received GOLD CERTIFICATION in the Industrial Design/Lighting Fixture-Outdoor category.

The GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards is an international competition that celebrates the excellence and talent of creative professionals and firms who have distinguished themselves through exemplary practice. Created in Montreal in 2007, the original mission was to recognize the excellence of Quebec designers and architects. The competition was expanded to include international entries in 2020. A multidisciplinary jury of global judges includes leading international designers, architects, professors, entrepreneurs, and distinguished press.

Mochi’s nature-inspired silhouette departs from traditional dome styling, bringing a softness to urban settings while delivering exceptional lighting performance. Its thoughtful design extends to its operating mechanism: a seamlessly integrated cast aluminum push-button latch provides one-handed access to the driver for easy replacement.

An advanced lighting system offers precise illumination well-suited for projects where safety is a priority, including city and residential streets, commercial buildings, transit, urban parks, waterfront pathways, or bike paths. Project designers can choose from more than 14 light distribution types, including backward optics. Additional versatility comes from the Orion light engine's orientable optics, which can be oriented by increments of 90°. Designers can combine two distribution types within a single light engine.

Mochi has received several accolades since its introduction, including a BrightStar Award and Red Dot Design Award.
Cyclone-Valenza-Webslider-Desktop.jpg

Cyclone Lighting, an established leader in the manufacture of outdoor luminaires, today announced that it has released its unique V-shaped Valenza luminaire. Valenza’s sleek, minimalist aesthetic houses cutting-edge optics that meet municipal requirements.

Valenza’s straight geometric lines are offset and softened by organically inspired rounded edges. Seen from the side, its slender, subtle silhouette virtually disappears, belying the quality and strength of its illumination. Viewed head-on, the assertive V shape makes a strong impression, with a look that can help modernize urban settings.

A 45-LED board is designed for ambient illumination for parks, pathways, or urban squares. A 90-LED board is intended for areas where superior performance is required, such as bike paths, roads, commercial courtyards, university and corporate campuses, transit space, or parking lots. Valenza offers a range of packages from 2,400 to 20,000 delivered lumens. All luminaire options are dark sky friendly.

The luminaire’s light engine, known for its superior performance and durability, is equipped with fully sealed, optically engineered, injection-molded acrylic lenses with an IP66 rating for superior performance and durability. Valenza luminaires are offered with more than thirteen distribution types, including symmetrical, asymmetrical, and crosswalk options. House shield and backward optics options are also available for added flexibility, creating a customized light source that optimizes illumination management.

The backward optics option introduces an additional layer of versatility. It allows Valenza’s precision optics to be adjusted in 90° increments, facilitating the combination of two distribution types within a single light engine. Landscape architects and city engineers can illuminate a road and an adjacent sidewalk or bike path using just one luminaire. This contributes to enhanced lighting and cost savings. Standard color temperatures of 3000K and 4000K cater to a wide range of lighting requirements.

Valenza luminaires may be selected in a range of standard and complementary colors; custom RAL matches are also offered to optimize the luminaire’s impact in a space. Smooth and textured finishes are available.

Cyclone Lighting Introduces Lupa Luminaire

Cyclone Lighting, an established leader in the manufacture of outdoor luminaires, today announced that it has released its Lupa luminaire. Lupa offers modern, minimalist styling with optics that create an inviting, glare-free experience.

Lupa features a disk shape, no visible hardware, and a seamlessly integrated arm to bring a contemporary feel and refined look to public spaces. It is intended for urban landscapes such as courtyards, university and corporate campuses, urban parks, city squares, transit access, and transitional areas.

With nighttime use of public spaces on the rise, there is an emphasis on human-focused lighting that responds to the emotional need for that space to feel safe, warm, and welcoming. Lupa was intentionally designed with lower pole heights to contribute to this feeling of security. Yet, its light engine produces a gentler, more comfortable gradient for a softer look and glare-free environment.

Lupa’s light engine also features the latest ink technology in its diffuser to deliver broader, more even light distribution. Luminosity is uniform and unpixellated in appearance. City planners may choose from symmetric distribution for wide open spaces such as courtyards, asymmetric distribution for streets and alleyways, or pathway distribution for illuminating linear pedestrian routes.

Cast aluminum housing contributes to a high-quality, robust construction. Performance packages from P10 (3,260 delivered lumens) to P50 (15,880 delivered lumens) may be selected. Lupa is IP66-rated and dark sky friendly.
