The compact PhaseX Gateway is designed to integrate into traditional dimming cabinets or be placed strategically throughout a home. By pairing with DMF’s Artafex 2 or Artafex 4 fixtures, PhaseX delivers exceptional lighting performance with simple wiring and advanced control capabilities.
Artafex Linear: Redefining Modular Linear Lighting
The Artafex Linear series brings DMF Lighting’s signature modularity to linear lighting, addressing the frustrations integrators face with traditional LED tape systems. This solution provides a streamlined, plug-and-play design that eliminates soldering, reduces installation time, and ensures consistent performance.
Key Features of Artafex Linear
- Magnetic Connectors: Snap-fit connectors replace field cutting and soldering, making installation fast, reliable, and adaptable to on-site changes.
- Premium Silicone Lens: Soft-touch, dust-resistant silicone ensures dot-free, high-efficacy lighting for a polished, professional finish.
- Customizable Lengths: Available in one-foot, two-inch, and one-inch increments, Artafex Linear simplifies customization for various lighting applications.
- Warm Dim Technology: Offers color temperature matching with DMF’s Warm Dim downlights for cohesive lighting across fixtures.
- Flexible Ordering Process: Integrators can choose from three methods—by total footage, by zone, or by individual components—ensuring flexibility and ease for projects of any complexity.
The Artafex Linear Kit
To simplify installation further, DMF Lighting offers the Artafex Linear Kit, which includes pre-measured linear fixtures, connectors, power feeds, and accessories packaged in a convenient tray box. This comprehensive kit accommodates a wide range of scenarios, allowing integrators to adapt quickly to project changes without compromising performance or efficiency.
“Artafex Linear embodies the modularity and reliability that DMF Lighting is known for,” said Libman. “We’ve addressed the challenges integrators face with LED tape by creating a solution that is simple to specify, order, and install, while maintaining the elegance and performance our customers expect.”
Enhancing Residential Applications with Versatile Lighting Solutions
Both PhaseX and Artafex Linear are designed to elevate the lighting experience in residential spaces while simplifying the work of integrators.
- PhaseX delivers advanced tunable white lighting with intuitive control, precision dimming, and seamless integration into existing systems.
- Artafex Linear redefines linear lighting with its modular design, premium build quality, and user-friendly installation process.
Applications for these products include under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, ambient cove lighting in living rooms, and task lighting in home offices. Whether for accent lighting or creating sophisticated scenes, these solutions enable integrators to deliver high-quality, customizable lighting experiences tailored to homeowners’ preferences.
Empowering Integrators with Practical Innovation
By addressing the specific challenges integrators face—such as complex wiring, cumbersome installation, and unreliable components—DMF Lighting continues to lead the way in custom residential lighting. PhaseX and Artafex Linear exemplify the company’s commitment to innovation, practicality, and superior performance, helping integrators close more projects and provide a standout lighting experience in the marketplace.
With these new offerings, DMF Lighting cements its role as a trusted partner for integrators and a leader in the custom lighting industry.
We’re proud that our X Series Downlights have been recognized as one of the world’s most distinguished brands for performance, aesthetics, and impact by the 200+ member jury of industry leaders who are actively shaping the world.
Every architect and designer appreciates that it takes spectacular products and materials to make their designs a reality. The A+Product Awards honors the elements behind the globe’s most inspiring contemporary buildings — as chosen by the architects and design professionals who specify them every day. It’s a true celebration of the best and most innovative building products worldwide.
DMF Lighting’s 2-inch modular downlights (housing, module/light engine and trim) provide the ultimate in performance, installation, serviceability and finishes.
The unique design includes tool-less, field-changeable trims, modules and optics, providing maximum flexibility in aiming a project or making design changes as they can be easily swapped onsite.
LED modules include a downlight or adjustable (360° rotation and 35° tilt) paired with a universal housing, offering a small footprint without sacrificing light output (750 to 1250 lumens) — comparable performance to 3" and 4" downlights in ceilings up to 10 feet.
Drivers are integrated into the modules versus the housing, providing ideal space efficiency and serviceability. Housing’s unique trap door provides post-install access to the splice box below the ceiling plane. Together these allow for painless serviceability, unheard of in a 2-inch fixture — the first truly serviceable 2-inch downlight.
Field-interchangeable optics include 15-, 25-, 40-, and 60-degrees and Linear Spread distributions. Color temperatures include 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, Warm Dim (3000K – 1800K) and Tunable White (4000K – 1800K and 6500K – 2700K) with a 93+ CRI and 2-step SDCM.
Die-cast aluminum trims are available in round and square apertures, and in downlight, wall wash, flangeless and decorative choices. Trims are wet painted for a rich, matte finish in White, Black, Bronze, Clear Diffuse and Warm Diffuse or custom color (RAL) and are completely interchangeable so any design changes can be easily swapped onsite.
A breakthrough for error-free installation, a patent-pending collar eliminates over-cutting and drywall repair, common with small-aperture fixtures. Collar makes flush installation in drywall/millwork easy and serves as overspray protection.
Housings and modules can ship separately so the housings can be installed before the lighting design is finalized, reducing on-site storage while maintain tight project deadlines.
Showcasing products that provide significant technical advancement in the art and science of lighting, the X Series Modular Downlighting System has been accepted into the 2024 Illuminating Engineering Society’s (IES) Progress Report for its uniqueness, innovation, and significance to the lighting industry.
The X Series 2-inch downlight’s modular design (housing, module, and trim) features the industry’s first LED light engine module integrated with a DALI-2 driver for the rapidly growing Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) lighting control protocol.
A DALI Config App allows simple DALI setup and reading without power and stores original settings for device upgrades, changes, or replacement using NFC cloning.
The downlights’ cleverly engineered Cross Beam Total Internal Reflection (TIR) Optics maximize light efficacy (up to 105 lm/W) while minimizing glare and ensuring no cutoff when combined with a pinhole trim.
The versatility of the modular design includes tool-less, field-interchangeable optics, modules, and trims, allowing for simple serviceability, easy design changes, and onsite flexibility to meet specific application needs. The X Series is also the first truly serviceable 2-inch downlight with integrated drivers in the modules versus the housing, so modules, equipped with quick connects, can be easily swapped out with below ceiling access.
The yearly mission of the IES Progress Committee is to keep in touch with developments in the art and science of lighting throughout the world and prepare a yearly report of achievements for the Society.
