Flos expands its North American vision with a cutting-edge 44,000 sq ft facility in New York City. This new, state-of-the-art space highlights our commitment to the US and North American markets, fostering closer collaboration with architects and lighting designers while elevating our bespoke production and design capabilities. Through its expertise and dedication to innovation, Flos offers a bespoke lighting service worldwide, allowing clients to work directly with their local artisans and suppliers to conceive tailor-made designs. For clients based in the United States and Canada, the center of Flos Bespoke's operations is its state-of-the-art facility located in New York City.

The new facility significantly enhances Flos Bespoke operations, focusing on local sourcing and production. It features on-site metal fabrication, painting, and custom finishing capabilities, prioritizing local materials and artisans. The space enables rigorous quality control, with an engineering team overseeing the entire design process and on-site product testing. Higher ceilings allow for full-scale previews of large projects before installation, elevating our ability to deliver top-tier, customized lighting solutions. With our expanded capabilities, Flos pushes the boundaries of bespoke lighting design to the next level.

The heart of Flos Bespoke's operations for US and Canada-based projects is its cutting-edge Meserole facility in New York City. Spanning over 44,000 square feet dedicated to lighting design and production, this new vast space is conveniently situated just six miles from Manhattan. Clients are welcome to collaborate with and in-house lighting designers and engineers, metal fabricators and painters, and local material sourcing, to bring their design concepts to life and to see the evolution into tangible, customized lighting solutions.

1 - Design Conceptualization​

Starting fFrom the initial inquiry where the client gets in touch with their request, to the final installation, every step of the process is collaborative. ItThe conversation begins withfrom a design concept which then evolves into a rendering after a series of meetings with ourthe team of experts (i.e. our in-house lighting designerdesigners, engineers and sourcing experts).

2 - Lighting Design​

Flos works with designers and architects from the early stages, creating designs, drawings, and visualizations to illustrate the vision. We evaluate materials and samples, textures, colors, and finishes to bringia new custom lighting vision to life.

3 - Engineering Prototyping​

The prototype and all fabrication are completed within the Meserole facility in collaboration with in-house metalworkers and suppliers. Flos manufactures custom shipping crates to ensure safe delivery . Local talent and materials sourcing ensure a quick turnaround and reduces the carbon footprint.

Precise cutting, bending, and welding techniques are employed to create the metal components in the fabrication shop. The metalwork is then prepared for painting, primed, and suspended for drying.

4 - Local Assembly & Production​

After client's approval, full-scale production begins. The team carefully inspects and tests the finished pieces at the New York facility.

5 - Installation​

The final phase involves transporting it to the installation locationwithin the United States or Canada. Flos provides complete installation services,with a team of installers who are familiar with the project from the start.

The innovative rear lens system offers optimal visual comfort in any situation; special asymmetrical or
lengthwise diffuser accessories pre-installed allow to reduce the beam of light and to prevent glare in more critical situations too. It also has 4 different optics for greater versatility in choosing the required light beam, Spot – Medium – Wide Flood - Elliptical.
