After thoughtful consideration, Howard Industries has decided to permanently close the Howard Lighting Products Division. This closure will take place gradually over the next three to six months. The lighting and ballast industry has faced tremendous competition, with almost all manufacturing occurring overseas, as well as challenges from discontinuities in this industry regarding LED technology. Howard Lighting Products and its staff have worked diligently to overcome these obstacles over the last several years, including our recent restructuring to concentrate solely on utility-focused lighting products. However, at this time, we have determined that our energy and efforts can be better spent on other areas of our company that have more growth potential.
