Hydrel Expands 4750L Family of Architectural Linear Floodlights


Hydrel, an established innovator and provider of outdoor architectural and landscape lighting products, today announced the expansion of its architectural linear floodlights with the introduction of a 2-foot RGBW fixture and a rotated mounting option.

4750L is an exterior linear floodlight designed for challenging outdoor applications, delivering high performance and efficacy. It is available in continuous runs, enabling the designer to create an uninterrupted line of light. With static white, tunable white, and RGBW options, 4750L brings a bold lighting aesthetic to elevate the nighttime experience for building and landscape features.

A new 2-foot RGBW version facilitates smaller projects requiring RGBW. It also paves the way for continuous runs that require more flexibility in the final length beyond the standard 4-foot fixture.

Mounting accessories are available for surface, ground and wall-mount. The new rotated knuckle mounting options, which are also shorter than the standard version, expand the application possibilities. Lighting designers can now place the luminaire in small spaces or closer to a facade when there is minimal set-back.

The 4750L linear floodlight family can deliver up to 2000 lumens per foot, with a high efficiency of 134 lumens per watt, for an exceptional lighting experience that requires fewer luminaires.

A modular Flow-Thru technology enhances water management: water flows around the independently sealed integral driver module and LED module. It is also equipped with field changeable LED and driver modules for ease of maintenance. The fixtures are IP67-rated.

Its SAF RGBW with FLAME lighting technique received GOLD CERTIFICATION in the Industrial Design/Lighting Fixture-Outdoor category.

The GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards is an international competition that celebrates the excellence and talent of creative professionals and firms who have distinguished themselves through exemplary practice. Created in Montreal in 2007, the original mission was to recognize the excellence of Quebec designers and architects. The competition was expanded to include international entries in 2020. A multidisciplinary jury of global judges includes leading international designers, architects, professors, entrepreneurs, and distinguished press.

FLAME is a new play on RGBW LED light. The patent-pending lighting technique offers two beams in one luminaire: a central beam and an outer beam that blend harmoniously to create an impressive accent gradient effect. This unique optical engineering construction is currently available with SAF7, SAF14, and SAF28 floodlights in RGBW. Designers can choose a Narrow, Wide, or Lotus FLAME to create the desired lighting aesthetic.

The SAF floodlight family illuminates more with less luminaire; its minimalist design blends into the architecture in a variety of applications. Hydrel Expands Hyline501 Linear Floodlight Family


Hydrel, an established innovator and provider of outdoor architectural and landscape lighting products, today announced the expansion of its Hyline501 outdoor linear accent luminaires to include a 2’ and 4’ linear in Quad Tech RGBW.

With Quad Tech RGBW there is no color separation or striations. It achieves optimal color mixing at the surface of the lens and offers superior near-field color mixing. Quad Tech RGBW combines with Power Scaling features to ensure no overheating of the fixture or loss of lumen output. FLAME is a new play on RGBW LED light. The patent-pending lighting technique comprises of a central beam with an outer beam that blends harmoniously and creates an impressive accent gradient effect. This unique optical engineering design is currently available with SAF7, SAF14, and SAF28 floodlights in RGBW.

Designers can also select 4000K color temperature for a play on white with a pop of color creating a sophisticated lighting design while enhancing various architectural elements.

Three FLAME lighting techniques may be selected.

Narrow FLAME: With a 30° outer beam and 10° central beam, Narrow FLAME highlights vertical forms and surfaces such as trees, facades, and columns. Narrow FLAME adds depth and captivates architectural elements with an accent gradient effect.

Wide FLAME: The versatile Wide FLAME creates a blended gradient effect with its 70° outer and 30° central beams. It can showcase playful, blended textured surfaces, or emphasize an intentional spill on overhangs. Wide FLAME can uplight support columns with deliberate spill for roadway underside canopies or arches. Or it can spotlight for a smooth gradient effect across foliage.

Lotus FLAME: Lotus FLAME creates a dramatic lighting effect along a wall or an overhang. Its 70° outer beam and 10° central beam showcases stark intentional individual columns while washing the overall facade.

Two independently controlled DMX circuits (with an optional RDM) manage the outer and center beams. As with the SAF architectural family, the SAF floodlight with FLAME also offers Quad Tech that ensures no color separation and high-performance color mixing. Its optimal LED driver means no loss of lumen output. A selection of external accessories, finishes and mounting options are available to meet specific project needs.

Hydrel is also introducing a FLAME visualizer, enabling lighting designers to experiment with the new lighting technique against different facades. Lighting designers can try out FLAME to gain a better understanding of how each lighting technique and color will behave.
