Midstream Lighting is proud to announce its accreditation as a Living Wage Employer. This commitment ensures that every employee at Midstream Lighting will earn a minimum hourly wage of £13.85, well above the government’s minimum rate of £11.44 for those over 21.

Based in London, where 13.3% of jobs – representing 574,000 roles – pay less than the real Living Wage, Midstream Lighting is leading by example in delivering fair pay for hard work.

The real Living Wage is the only wage rate independently calculated based on the true cost of living. By voluntarily adopting this benchmark, Midstream Lighting joins a movement committed to ensuring employees earn a wage they can live on, not just the statutory minimum. Since 2011, this initiative has uplifted nearly half a million workers, adding £3.5 billion to the earnings of those in low-paid roles.

Yuli Grig, Commercial Director at Midstream Lighting, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to become an accredited Living Wage Employer. At Midstream Lighting, we recognise that our people are the foundation of our success. Paying the real Living Wage reflects our commitment to valuing our employees and ensuring they feel supported and respected. This decision not only strengthens our ability to attract and retain top talent but also demonstrates to our current and future team members that we are invested in their well-being and the long-term success of our workforce.”

Katherine Chapman, Director of the Living Wage Foundation, said:
“We’re delighted that Midstream Lighting has joined the movement of over 15,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily go beyond the government minimum to ensure their staff earn enough to live on.

“They join thousands of small businesses, alongside well-known organisations like Burberry, Barclays, and Everton Football Club. These employers recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the hallmark of a responsible business, reflecting a belief that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”

Exciting news! Midstream Lighting is proud to be a preferred supplier to the Premier League LED Floodlight Fund! Funded by the Premier League and delivered by the Football Foundation, the programme will provide grants of up to 70% to support the installation of state-of-the-art LED floodlight systems or upgrades from traditional metal halide systems. These grants are available for stadiums across the National League System and Women's Football Pyramid. This will help clubs lower both their maintenance and running costs and minimise the impact they have on the environment.

The PLSF is what used to be known as the Football Stadia Improvement Fund. The programme is administered by the Football Foundation, which is a partnership between the Premier League, Football Association, Sport England, and The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

It’s a massive honour for us to be named as one of the Fund’s approved suppliers, but there’s more to it than that. As is the case with the International Hockey Federation’s Certification programme, this is about providing clubs with a guarantee about the level of quality that they’re going to receive when they work with a verified supplier.

The PLSF is running a ‘big switch’ campaign which is designed to encourage clubs to upgrade to LEDs from outdated technologies like metal-halide and sodium-vapour. There are clear benefits to doing so, of course, from lower running and maintenance costs through to reduced carbon emissions.
