As a leader in decorative maritime lighting, Preciosa Lighting has crafted a maritime version of their latest Signature Design for the Monaco Yacht Show. Ocean Pixels, derived from Signature Design Crystal Pixels, is being showcased with dynamic lighting scenes simulating an ocean wave. This design concept is custom-created for exquisite floating interiors in demanding maritime conditions. The Ocean Pixels installation has been masterfully conceived by Preciosa Lighting creative directors Michael Vasku and Andreas Klug. Inspired by the latest Preciosa Signature Design, Crystal Pixels, they created an installation that embodies the vibrant ocean hues while adding a touch of nautical elegance onboard.
Individual crystal cubes, each with an intricate pattern and finish, representing single pixels, form the foundation of a lighting canvas with a mesmerising maritime theme. The overall design is inspired by the natural beauty of ocean waves, coral reefs, and marine life. Needless to add, each crystal pixel is meticulously handcrafted to ensure the highest quality, finish and uniqueness. As with all Preciosa Signature Designs, Crystal Pixels offers a wide range of customisation options, from different component sizes and patterns to compositions and colours, allowing for bespoke lighting for bespoke ships.
The source inspiration for Ocean Pixels is the originator of modern digital culture – the humble but powerful pixel. What pixels are to digital culture, bricks are to architecture, and drops are to the boundless seas of inspiration. Each pixel, thus, becomes a fundamental building block, shaping something far greater than the sum of its parts. This enticing idea became the foundation of Ocean Pixels.
To create Ocean Pixels a selection of three different kinds of exquisite crystal glass in different colours were made, creating a dazzling play of light and colours reminiscent of sunlight dancing on water’s surface. The result, carved from 100 kg of crystal, is a visually stunning but also versatile lighting solution suitable for luxury maritime interiors.
The launch of the maritime concept was enabled by Preciosa’s in-house R&D team to meet the demanding maritime conditions, including stabilisation of the fixture points, weather-treating of all parts, and putting it through our rigorous maritime testing protocols.
Through Crystal Pixels, we demonstrate that even the harshest maritime conditions can be transformed into a design masterpiece, creating new reality. Much like digital art. This shift from classic lighting solutions to versatile concepts offers designers the freedom to unleash their creativity while meeting the highest safety standards.

We are delighted that our bespoke maritime lighting is part of a range of the world's most luxurious yachts and to be a long-standing supporter of the Monaco Yacht Show. This year we are working again with Upper Deck Lounge and The Honours, for whom we have created trophies for the winners of The Bowsprit Award, designed by Stephen Goss.
In recent years, the superyacht industry has done plenty to reshape the public narrative in its favour by investing in green initiatives that reduce its carbon ‘sail-print’, while encouraging environmental transparency.
Not just that, superyacht design is witnessing a heartening return to traditional techniques where the use of historic building materials and methods are creating an overall retro-chic aesthetic. This is made possible by using advanced technologies like hybrid propulsion and meaningful use of Artificial Intelligence.
Preciosa Lighting is thrilled to mirror this progressive direction as it’s only the combination of cutting edge technologies, traditional craftsmanship and quality materials that can create lasting maritime solutions that outlast challenging maritime conditions.
Our approach blends centuries of crystal-making tradition with cutting-edge innovation. We craft bespoke lighting solutions that are as resilient as they are refined, designed to endure the toughest maritime conditions while exuding timeless luxury. It’s about more than just lighting — it’s about enhancing the maritime experience with elegance and precision.
