Visa Lighting, a leader in architectural lighting for over 60 years and still proudly manufacturing all of its luminaires in the USA, has launched two new product line extensions with RGBW (Red-Green-Blue-White) capabilities for its popular Zume™ globe pendants.
The existing one-piece, high-quality, gloss white acrylic Zume collection of globes has been a consistently popular model for lighting designers for the last four years. The globe pendant’s simplicity makes it an easy go-to for designers and building owners, elevating the globes from a mid-20th-century trend to a classic lighting staple.
The new Zume In DL RGBW (with a downlight) is the first-ever commercial-use globe collection with RGBW capability and a downlight. The Zume In RGBW (without downlight) and the Zume In DL RGBW (with a downlight) build upon Zume’s current functionality by adding the ability to select specific static colors or program color-changing sequences using a DMX controller. The Zume In RGBW is available in four sizes: 8”, 12”, 16” and 22”, and the version with the downlight is offered in 3 sizes: 12”, 16”, and 22”. Both RGBW models include a remote driver as standard, are mounted using a 5/8” diameter stem, with the stem, cap, and canopy color-matched to one of Visa Lighting’s 20 color finishes or a variety of alternative metal finishes.
"The use of color-changing lighting in commercial buildings continues to grow in popularity," said Ryan Oldenburg, President of Visa Lighting. "Whether building owners want to enhance the ambiance, engage visitors, project a brand identity, or simply adjust the lighting to refresh the look of a certain space, Zume In RGBW can deliver," Ryan added.
Both the Zume In RGBW and Zume In DL RGBW are available for both specification and shipment now. Visit visalighting.com to learn more about Visa Lighting’s architectural, healthcare, and behavioral/mental health lighting products.
Visa Lighting's Liberty Switches were announced as the winner of the prestigious Nightingale Innovation Award in the Technology-Integrated Solutions category today during the keynote session at the 2024 Healthcare Design Conference + Expo. The Liberty Switches are Visa Lighting's sixth Nightingale Award selection.
Liberty high-abuse momentary switches were created to provide behavioral health patients the freedom to control the lighting in their own room. Crafted with rugged single-piece machined aluminum wall plate, the switches are ligature-resistant, feature tamper-resistant hardware, exceed IK10 impact resistance, and are listed to IP65 ingress protection. The switches are also included in the New York State Office of Mental Health (NYOMH) Patient Safety Standards, Materials, and Systems Guidelines.
"In recent conversations with designers and healthcare facility stakeholders, a request kept surfacing: to give behavioral or mental health patients control over their environment in a way that is safe and helps make the space feel less institutional," said Hans Nielsen, Senior Product Designer. "Providing a patient a sense of control over their environment, in a situation where they otherwise have very limited control, helps give them confidence and independence which can reinforce any efforts to self-sooth and improve health outcomes."
Liberty switch assemblies are available in single, dual, and triple-gang models and compliment Visa Lighting's expansive line of behavioral health/high abuse lighting products including overbed, ceiling, vanity, downlights and mirrors.
Held annually since 1992, the Nightingale Awards are the healthcare furniture and furnishings seal of approval from the healthcare interior designers, architects, facilities managers, and clinicians, who serve as the jurors.
Visa Lighting, a leader in architectural lighting for over 60 years and still proudly manufacturing all of its luminaires in the USA, has launched the Terra Collection, a series of four new commercial decorative pendants with both up and down lighting.
Inspired by the beauty of nature, the Terra Collection combines minimalist aesthetic with clever manufacturing techniques to yield a group of discreetly sophisticated pendants packed with functionality. The form of each pendant mimics a geological feature in an abstract, low-resolution motif. A suspension and canopy design has been developed to allow the installer to rotate the position of each pendant in relation to the space. Diffused up-light provides a softly illuminated ceiling plane combined with a downlight source featuring a variety of distribution options for unparalleled versatility.
Each of the four pendants have a unique design aesthetic:
- The Dune evokes the gentle curves of shifting sands. The softened silhouette of Dune offers an air of comfort, making it perfect for a wide range of applications such as hospitality, corporate, healthcare, and education.
- The Mesa recalls the form of the towering formations of the American West. It’s sleek, rounded off edges will blend beautifully with most design aesthetics to enhance lobbies, atriums, conference rooms, and more.
- The keen angles of the Ridge pendant capture the essence of natural rocky spurs with varied edges and dramatic gradients, making it perfect as an individual showpiece over a small table or in a cluster in a common space.
- The Summit’s long, clean lines have a deceptively simple, modern, geometric shape that will introduce a pleasant visual interest to any space.
The entire Terra Collection is available in all 21 of Visa Lighting’s non-VOC powder coated colors, is compliant with the Buy American Act (BAA) and Build American Buy American (BABA) standards, and is offered with high quality, optional 90+ CRI (2700K sources are 90+ CRI standard).
With four different models of architectural pendants, we are taking the cylinder pendant to the next level. These pendants feature both up and down lights. The form of each pendant minics a geological feature in an abstract, low-resolution motif.
At the Healthcare Design Conference and Expo (HCD), Visa Lighting launches five new products built specifically for behavioral and metal health building facilities, including a new wall switch family, three new luminaires, and a series of new mirrors.
New Orleans -- Visa Lighting, the premier lighting choice for healthcare and behavioral/mental health environments, debuted five new products at the Healthcare Design Conference & Expo in New Orleans, LA, today. Each of the new products is designed to withstand high-abuse situations and meet the requirements necessary to be used in a behavioral/mental health application.
First, Visa enters the behavior/mental health wall switch category with the new Liberty™. These high-abuse momentary switch assemblies are available in single-gang, dual-gang, and triple-gang models and complement Visa Lighting's behavioral/mental health lighting portfolio of products. Liberty can be used where switches are vulnerable to damage in either behavioral/mental health patient rooms or other high-abuse applications. The face plate is machined from aluminum and is available in all 21 of Visa Lighting's powder coat paint finishes. These low-voltage switches are designed to pair with Visa Lighting's Low Voltage Controller (LVPC-DIM), allowing for patient dimming control, and they are also compatible with other manufacturers' controls.
For luminaires, the new crescent-shaped Sanibel™ uses a minimalist and modern approach, with a unique curved body. Mounted in a downlight orientation for behavioral/mental health, Sanibel can be used as a bathroom vanity light or a wall sconce. Sanibel can also be used in standard interior and exterior applications mounted in upward or downward orientations. Sanibel is also available in all 21 of Visa Lighting's powder coat paint finishes to blend into a painted wall for a clean, quiet effect, or to stand out as an accent piece.
Next, the new ceiling mount Harmony™ 2x2 behavioral/mental health luminaire features a regressed, impact-resistant polycarbonate lens with a "cove-like" lighting effect, featuring a quiet inner area. Designed to improve the patient's experience with soothing, easy-on-the-eyes illumination, it provides patients with visual comfort for a better healing environment. Harmony 2x2's simple, smooth, cleanable surface also makes it easy for healthcare staff to maintain.
The newest member of Visa Lighting's Symmetry™ family of round ceiling-mounted fixtures, the Symmetry DL is a high-abuse downlight with a 4" diameter aperture. It features a sleek, machined aluminum trim ring, impact-resistant polycarbonate lens with anti-scratch coating, tamper-resistant fasteners, and multiple optic and lumen output options. The Symmetry DL is a perfect low-profile lighting option for behavioral/mental health patient rooms, nurse stations, waiting rooms, hallways, stairwells, and more.
Finally, Visa has extended its popular Sole™ Illuminated Mirror by offering the Sole Non-Illuminated Mirror. The ligature-resistant Sole is offered in two frame styles, rectangular or oval, and features a heavy-duty machined aluminum frame, available in all 21 of Visa Lighting's powder coat paint finishes. Specifiers will have their choice of either polycarbonate or stainless steel mirror materials.
"These five innovative products expand Visa's leadership in lighting solutions for behavioral and mental health facilities", said Laurie Emery, Healthcare Market Development Manager for Visa Lighting. "Early response from specifiers has been very positive with each product as we strive to provide high-quality choices that help elevate the patient's experience," Laurie added.
