Designed specifically for the most demanding environments in the Oil & Gas and chemical industries, this multifunctional luminaire meets strict safety and durability standards with ATEX and IECEx certifications for hazardous areas zones 1/21 and 2/21.
KERN is more than just a standard luminaire – it’s a multifunctional solution that combines high-quality lighting with advanced emergency features. It isn’t just robust, it’s exceptionally reliable – its solid construction ensures resistance to mechanical impact, dust, and splashing water.
Thanks to its compact dimensions, it’s perfect for spaces with limited room, such as engine rooms, technical areas, or storage facilities. The emergency function provides essential lighting for escape routes during critical situations, enhancing worker safety and protection.
With ATEX certifications for zones 1/21 and 2/21, as well as IECEx compliance, it meets all required standards for safe operation in environments with risks of explosive gases and dust.
The luminaire is equipped with an innovative multifunctional LED indicator, providing important information about the device’s status, including fault detection and battery condition. In the event of a power outage, KERN automatically switches to backup power – either from a central system or a built-in battery, with up to 3 hours of operation.
For regular maintenance, the luminaire offers two emergency mode testing options – manual via a magnetic switch or fully automatic self-testing. These features ensure not only long-term reliability but also easy maintenance without needing to open the luminaire.
At ADIPEC 2024 in Abu Dhabi, we will showcase its outstanding capabilities, including visibility of escape route pictograms up to 30 meters, essential for safe evacuation from hazardous areas.
