Yeolight Technology Co., Ltd.

From February 21 to 24, the 2025 China International New Energy Vehicle Technology, Parts, and Services Exhibition (CINEVE 2025), organized by the New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Promotion Center of the China Equipment Management Association, was held at the Beijing Capital International Exhibition Center. As the first professional exhibition in China covering the entire new energy vehicle industry chain—"from design to manufacturing, from usage to services"—CINEVE 2025 comprehensively showcased the latest technological achievements and product innovations in the new energy vehicle sector.

As a global leader in OLED automotive lighting, Yeolight Technology’s Marketing Director, Xu Xianbin, was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled "Application of OLED Lighting in Automotive Interiors and Exteriors." He shared insights into cutting-edge industry technologies, while Yeolight Technology also showcased its latest OLED tail light technology and mass production advancements, driving the intelligent upgrade of new energy vehicles with innovative solutions.

Three Key Advantages of OLED Tail Lights Over Traditional LEDs

At the event, Xu Xianbin highlighted three major innovations that OLED tail lights offer compared to traditional LED sources:

Superior Visual Performance – OLED tail lights support 128 levels of grayscale variation and dynamic naked-eye 3D effects. They enable custom pattern designs, such as spark collisions and butterfly flight animations, significantly enhancing brand recognition and user experience.

Ultra-Thin, Flexible Design – With a thickness of just 0.1mm and weighing less than 1 gram, OLED tail lights are flexible and can be attached to curved surfaces, offering greater design freedom for automotive manufacturers.

Intelligent Interactive Capabilities – Featuring independently controllable light-emitting areas (e.g., the Hongqi H9 tail light upgrade with 64 partitions), OLED tail lights enable dynamic turn signals and safety alerts, effectively improving road communication and driving safety.

Xu emphasized that OLED technology is regarded as the "future star" of automotive lighting, using organic semiconductor materials that emit light when driven by an electric field. Its unique surface-emitting properties provide significant advantages and potential in vehicle lighting.

Expanding the Boundaries of OLED in Automotive Applications

  • Exterior Lighting: Enhances driving safety with improved visibility and intelligent signaling.
  • Interior Lighting: Offers a healthier, thinner, and more environmentally friendly illumination solution.
  • Digital Applications: OLED’s adaptability makes it ideal for smart and connected vehicle ecosystems.
At the exhibition, Yeolight Technology unveiled its next-generation OLED tail light modules, featuring high contrast, uniform illumination, and independently controllable pixel points—captivating the attention of industry professionals.

Leading the Market in Mass-Produced OLED Automotive Lighting

As China’s first company to achieve automotive-grade OLED light source mass production, Yeolight Technology has established strong collaborations with top-tier automakers such as Hongqi, Dongfeng Voyah, Xingyu Lighting, and Huayu Vision, with total shipments exceeding 100,000 units—securing its position as the market leader in OLED automotive lighting.

Representative Case Studies:

  • Hongqi H9 – The world’s first production vehicle with OLED tail lights, featuring a continuous design inspired by the "Tiananmen Tower" lighting aesthetic.
  • Dongfeng Nissan N7 – Equipped with 882 independent pixel points, achieving industry-leading resolution and dynamic lighting effects, earning widespread acclaim.
Beyond automotive lighting, Yeolight Technology is actively expanding its expertise into medical phototherapy and sterilization applications, leveraging organic semiconductor technology for cross-industry innovation and diversified growth.

The Future of Smart Automotive Lighting

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China’s annual production and sales of new energy vehicles surpassed 10 million units in 2024, with a 40.9% market share of total new car sales. In the passenger vehicle segment, new energy vehicles have accounted for over 50% of monthly sales for six consecutive months, reflecting the industry’s robust momentum.

This milestone signals that China’s new energy vehicle sector has entered a high-speed growth phase, securing a critical position in global market competition.

As the penetration of new energy vehicles continues to rise, automotive lighting systems are evolving from traditional functional components into intelligent interactive terminals.

Looking ahead, Yeolight Technology will continue leveraging its deep industry expertise and cutting-edge innovations to drive industry advancements, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to the development of smart vehicle ecosystems, accelerating the intelligent transformation of new energy vehicles.

Yeolight Technology Unveils Cutting-Edge OLED Automotive Lighting at CINEVE 2025
China-based OLED lighting developer Yeolight Technology started building a 4.5-Gen OLED lighting production line, in Huaibei City, Anhui Province, China in May 2022. The company is now starting to move in and install the first production equipment. The total equipment cost is estimated at 800 million Yuan (about $111 million USD).

Yeolight says that the new fab, when complete, will have a capacity of around 7 million panels in a year, or 1.2 million automotive lighting modules (probably referring to rear light modules). This will be the world's largest OLED lighting fab, when complete.
