The Intermatic we know today is rooted in a legacy of innovation that dates all the way back to 1891. Our business first started in Chicago, Illinois, where we specialized in manufacturing streetcar fare registers. During World War I and World War II, the company pivoted to provide manufacturing support, munitions, and aircraft controls to bolster the allied effort. By 1945, we shifted focus again and began developing mechanical and electrical timers with the very first “Inter-Matic” time switch.

Our product portfolio broadened to include industrial- and commercial-grade controls starting in 1990 and would soon expand with a variety of progressive, energy-saving solutions. Today, Intermatic offers an extensive catalog of lighting and energy controls, surge protection devices, weatherproof covers, and Wi-Fi enabled solutions as we continue to evolve and push the industry forward.

A suite of modular components makes it easy to install and configure ARISTA in a wide range of commercial applications. Bluetooth wireless communication and optional battery-powered sensors help speed up installations by reducing wiring needs.

The “brain” of the ARISTA system, the Room Controller connects to the primary load, has wired or wireless inputs, drives schedules using a real-time clock, has adjustable light level settings, all accessible through the smart phone app via Bluetooth mesh technology.

In-wall controls give occupants manual control of select features, including ON/OFF, raise/lower light levels (dimming), and adjustable auto-off countdown capabilities. These units are in-field upgradeable - as new features are released, users can easily upgrade the firmware of their existing control to take advantage of the new functionality.

Convenient and energy efficient, Presence Sensors reduce Energy Costs by ensuring lights are only on during occupancy. Presence sensors allow for either Automatic or Manual ON operation, and feature an Automatic OFF operation.Our Daylight Harvesting Sensors help building managers make the most of natural light while promoting occupant comfort and energy efficiency.

Set lighting schedules, monitor daylight levels and reduce energy waste while still allowing for manual control in a wide range of indoor environments. Suggested applications include classrooms, retail stores, offices, restaurants, schools and more.

ARISTA simplifies installations with a contractor-friendly communication protocol known as Bluetooth® 5.0 mesh wireless technology. The secure wireless technology allows contractors to complete setup without connecting to a local area network or hub.

Out of the box, ARISTA meets or exceeds ASHRAE 90.1-2016, IECC 2018 and Title 24-2019. The system’s modular components allow design engineers and design-build contractors to select the functionality needed within a project, then hand off specific installation specifications to contractors and commissioners.
