Marelli Automotive Lighting designs, develops and integrates a wide and complete range of top notch solutions for external automotive lighting systems, as well as innovative sensors to support future ADAS/AD features including LiDAR-sensor technology.

Marelli Automotive Lighting, previously Automotive Lighting was founded in 1999 as a joint venture of Magneti Marelli and Robert Bosch. This offered the opportunity to combine the knowledge in lighting technology of two companies with longstanding experience. Within the lighting domain, Marelli Automotive Lighting has an advanced/deep know-how in all the key technologies that enabled the lighting evolution in the last decades: Xenon, Full-LED, Matrix LED, Laser and Digital light.

Our products give distinction to vehicles’ front appearance and strengthen the cars’ image during the day and the night. With our brand and model specific solutions developed in close customer cooperation, with the best styling centers of the car industry.

We pick the styling ideas of the car makers and transform them into concepts that fulfill the legal demands and are producible in series. The results are adaptive, intelligent light systems that contribute to driving comfort and safety and that reflect the brand image.

The main skills in our Tool Competence Center (TCC) in Reutlingen include development, construction and manufacturing of tools. Modern machining centers, eroding and milling machines support an efficient implementation. The geometry of the high-quality components is designed in intensive communication and cooperation with the automobile manufacturers. The high-precision measurement and inspection systems guarantee the defined tolerances and ensure consistent quality in series production.

We manufacture highly reliable systems and products in our pursuit to deliver value to our customers. Success begins with the preparation of the raw material, in an automatic lastic treatment and distribution system. Our injection area has a wide range of moulding machines from 1 color small to 4 colours high tonnage classes. Metallized parts are made in an integrated process – from moulding to allumination. Our lines are designed according to lean manufacturing principles, featuring just in time delivery of components, built in error proof devices and poka yokes. We master hot plate welding and vibration welding – enabling us to choose the best process for our customer’s needs.

We develop innovative solutions for the technological requirements of our premium and volume customers and their markets. We make attractive design visible and set standards with intelligent lighting technologies based on Halogen, Xenon, LED and Laser systems as well as adaptive lighting systems in headlamps and rear lamps.

According to the specific vehicle architecture, we develop concepts and produce modular, scalable lighting control units and integrated software packages for our lighting systems. Our semiconductor technology reliably controls the intelligent and adaptive functions providing more comfort and safety on the road.
