Mode Lighting Limited is a manufacturer of electronic control systems and dimming components primarily for the commercial and residential lighting industry.
Mode Lighting is part of a privately owned group of companies specialising in the electronics industry and each company provides a relevant complementary service to the group. As part of a group, Mode Lighting has built an enviable reputation for design innovation and quality engineering, on a stable foundation of re-investment and acquisition.
Mode Lighting was founded in 1970 by Mr. David Tappenden and Mr. Richard Steward producing sequencing and colour change systems for the discotheque lighting market. The seventies saw a period of exponential growth and by 1975 the first factory was purchased. A second factory was purchased in 1985 concentrating on printed circuit board manufacture. In the early nineties, Mode diversified into architectural lighting with the introduction of the Mirage range of dimmers and the development of the first fully dimmable electronic transformer for low voltage lighting.
Throughout the last four decades our investment has been focused on research and development prompting a steady stream of innovations. This philosophy continues with developments and research in new technologies ensuring Mode remains at the forefront of the lighting and controls markets.
The Mode group provides a variety of services including, turnkey OEM electronic product from design to manufacture and IMS (Insulated Metal Substrate) printed circuit board for the power supply and LED industry.
