For seventy years NORKA has been a recognised supplier of technical lighting for difficult operating conditions.
Mr Walter Stäcker founded the company in 1948. The first products were cable and junction boxes for electrical installations. This was followed by water and dust-proof luminaires for fluorescent lamps according to the principle of a short seal.
Today the range of products consists of about 4,500 standard luminaires for a wide variety of operational areas. Beyond that, special products for specific applications have been, and will continue to be, developed according to customer requirements.
The administration including the commercial department as well as sales and distribution, IT and development is based in Hamburg, whereas the production takes place exclusively in the factory in Dörverden-Hülsen, approximately 150 kilometres from Hamburg.
We rely on high-quality materials and ultra-efficient LEDs requiring low maintenance. Due to their excellent durability, NORKA luminaire housings often outlive the life cycles of the built-in electronic components. This is why NORKA luminaires are designed to allow for component replacement. In fact, you will be able to obtain a wide variety of spare parts from NORKA long-term. Luminaires featuring our easy eXchange design enable components to be changed really quickly and easily – making new purchases unnecessary, while saving installation time and resources.
Retrofitting existing installations with perfectly fi tting LEDs and using a lighting control system also saves energy and is often eligible for subsidies. Just by changing products one to one allows FOCUSSED LIGHTING from NORKA to achieve energy savings of up to 50% and more.
In many areas, the additional automatic control of lighting makes sense: corridors in warehouses are deserted, but lit. There is adequate daylight in the production hall, but the lighting system is on at 100%.
