Laser Diode Lighting
Laser diodes are high flux density light sources capable of throwing a clean beam of light over a long distance. This advantage makes laser lighting of particular interest in automotive applications where a high beam with a long penetration distance is desired. Laser diodes emit light through the process of stimulated emission. This mechanism makes it possible to instantly recombine all the charges injected into the quantum region, thus avoiding efficiency droop—a fundamental challenge for LED lighting.
