Solite Europe Ltd is a leading manufacturer and supplier of cleanroom lighting equipment and luminaires for laboratories, pharmaceutical areas, semiconductor manufacturing areas, hospitals, kitchens and food preparation applications. Since its management buyout in 1998 and the acquisition of the company by FW Thorpe Plc in 2009, Solite Europe has strengthened its reputation as a company that can supply specialist lighting and clean-area products to the highest standards.
Solite luminaires and systems are designed and engineered for reliability and governed by rigorous quality assurance processes at every stage in the development cycle. All materials, components, subassemblies and finished products are subject to stringent quality control, as demonstrated by the company’s BS EN ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems) certification.
At Solite we design and manufacture our luminaires from our new production and office facility in Stockport, Cheshire to the highest standards - up to an IP65 specification - to prevent the ingress of dust and moisture. Our luminaires are intended for use in areas where maintaining clean atmospheres are essential. Maintaining room integrity is our first concern when producing clean room luminaires.
Solite Europe’s product range also incorporates many ancillary clean-area fitments such as vision panels (both single and double glazed), filter housings for HEPA or general room filtration, escape hatches and through access panels. We specialise in providing rear access luminaires built to withstand both accidental and full walk on capability by maintenance staff.
Being certified to ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management Systems) assures customers that Solite measures and reduces its environmental impacts and complies with environmental legislation. Solite uses the most efficient materials and components, reducing the environmental impact through the life of each luminaire. The manufacturing process is constantly monitored to improve resource efficiency and reduce waste. Any waste generated, including end-of-life components, is subject to ethical disposal or recycling. The company’s UK operation is carbon offset via an independently endorsed, government approved, company-controlled scheme.
Solite is committed to the continual improvement of its Occupational Health and Safety Management System and is certified to ISO 45001:2018. The company employs an internal audit programme, effective accident investigation, robust nonconformity and corrective action processes. Solite has set health and safety as a key priority for all directors, managers, employees, contractors and visitors and is committed to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all parties.
