From its headquarters in Charleston, South Carolina, the company services an international client base of top interior designers and architects in the residential, hospitality and contract segments. The company’s designs regularly find placement in high-profile homes, restaurants and historic restorations from Beverly Hills to the Seychelles and consistently garner acclaim from top design publications such as Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, and World of Interiors.

Under the guidance of our celebrated Creative Director, Michael Amato, we strive to introduce a continuous flow of new products that are uncompromising in quality, unparalleled in originality and versatility and endlessly customizable in form and function. Inspired by art, fashion, history, architecture and pop culture, each of our original designs is bench-made and hand-finished at our Charleston, South Carolina, factory using a blend of traditional and modern techniques.
Our craftsmen, artisans and engineers work hand-in-hand with each other to continuously improve our manufacturing processes. The result is impeccable craftsmanship using the finest materials and built to endure for generations—all backed by an industry-leading lifetime guarantee.
Each of the company’s products is bench-made and hand-finished at its 160,000 sq. ft. headquarters on the historic Charleston Navy Yard, which houses its talented teams of engineers, sales and marketing professionals, designers, craftsmen and artisans.
The Urban Electric Co.’s catalogued collection includes nearly 300 interior and exterior fixtures designed by in-house Creative Director Michael Amato as well as several outside collaborations with some of the most renowned architects and designers in the industry including Steven Gambrel, Mark Maresca, Martin Brudnizki, Ken Fulk and Nickey Kehoe. Each fixture is made-to-order to their clients exact specifications from an endless array of customizations from color to cord to finish.
