Before LEDs became prevalent in our everyday lives, an early application was sign lighting, which was US LED's introduction to the new technology. However, industry experts resisted the initial adoption of LED lighting. "Their reaction often sounded like we were asking them to change religion rather than their source of lighting for their channel letters," said Ron Farmer, CEO of US LED. Nevertheless, LED technology would eventually become the standard for energy efficiency and the primary alternative to traditional lighting systems for commercial and industrial applications.
When US LED was founded in 2001, LED technology was gaining momentum. After capitalizing on our history in signage lighting, US LED shifted focus even further in 2009 to expand its LED product portfolio.
