Sliver is Alva’s newest addition to our outdoor sconce collection. It features a clean, modern form that is narrow and elegantly designed, generating ambient light that enhances any outdoor space. With tough construction, it is built to last and withstand weather conditions. We utilize impact-resistant exterior-grade white acrylic combined with the best marine-grade aluminum available, available in a variety of architectural finishes.
We’re all intrigued by a sliver of light. It may be that sliver of light under a door, or that thin crack of light under a window shade. There is something magical about a thin sliver of bright white light. We took this magical image, turned it into our newest addition to Alva.
Sliver is an outdoor fixture which serves as an architectural accent. It is a clean, architectural strip with a ¼” sliver of impact resistant exterior grade white acrylic. We flawlessly illuminate this sliver with LEDs. Sconce can be mounted vertically, horizontally or on a ceiling.
4.6” Wide
Narrow, quite narrow. Narrow outdoor fixtures are a current trend. Clearly designed to work with current architecture.
3” Depth
Shallow fixtures are in high demand. While ADA requires 4” specifiers are asking us to do better. With LED technology 3” is now possible. Rarely do we look at a wall sconce head on. Typically, we view these luminaires from an angle. Shallow fixtures simply look better when seen from an angle.
We’ve created an extremely clean Modernist design. We’ve learned that specifiers turn to Alva when they want simple, clean.
Applications
- Columns. Great way to accent exterior columns on a building.
- Vast building facades. Often facades of buildings appear as large blank canvases. You need a way to break up a large vast space, need something interesting placed on it. Several Sliver sconces essentially become art floating on the façade.
- Interior. While this fixture is exterior grade you can place it indoors. Will work well in lobbies and corridors. Sconce can be mounted vertically, horizontally or on a ceiling.
- Art. This fixture is a simple form of modern art. We all want clean art that does not take away from the architecture of a space. Sliver is the solution.
Built Tough
We use the best marine grade aluminum available. The impact resistant exterior grade white acrylic sliver is designed to last. The fixture is fully sealed to keep dirt and insects out. We finish the fixture with the best paint available.
Our customers specify Alva knowing the fixtures will look great a decade later.
