Commercial Lighting
Commercial lighting refers to the interior and exterior illumination of commercial, light industrial and institutional buildings and facilities. These buildings and facilities are used for a range of purposes (e.g., work, warehousing, education, healthcare, retail, exercising) but not as residential living spaces. Lighting in these places is usually served by a combination of different types of fixtures which provides general, accent, task, safety, security, and emergency lighting. The operation of commercial facilities is more attuned to overall life-cycle costs for lighting. A complete technology switch to
LED enabled drastically reduced operating overheads. Advances in
lighting controls are likewise leading the radical transformation in commercial lighting.
