Also in the Product Design category, Allure (design iGuzzini) and BeTwo (design Alfonso Femia / AF* Design) were awarded with "Red Dot" recognition.
The Red Dot Design Award is one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world. A jury of 39 experts made up of professors, consultants, journalists and industrial designers evaluated the numerous applications based on the four fundamental principles of good design: the quality of function, the quality of seduction, the quality of use, and the quality of responsibility.
The Red Dot Design Award looks back on almost 70 years of history: in 1955, a jury came together for the first time to assess the best designs of the time. In the 1990s, Red Dot CEO Professor Dr. Peter Zec developed the name and brand of the award. Since then, the coveted “Red Dot” distinction has been the internationally recognized seal of outstanding design quality. The award winners are presented in yearbooks, museums, and online.
The awards given to our products from the design world continue. We are proud to announce that Agorà (design Jean-Michel Wilmotte) and Crystal have been awarded the GOOD DESIGN® Award.
GOOD DESIGN® Award is organized annually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press, Ltd.
Approximately 5,000 shortlisted entries were judged by independent and international jurors with the awards given to the designs with the highest design quality, innovation degree, and superior design.
The simple yet highly detailed design of Agorà by architect J.M. Wilmotte integrates perfectly into architecture and the urban context, almost blending into material thanks to its extremely reduced depth.
Crystal delivers preciousness to the ceiling and throughout any space. The minimal linear form combines with the rich finish to create a magical play of light reflections, even when not in use. The new patented Opti Diamond optic is the result of a careful study of materials and engineering that optimize the catadioptric principle, producing an extraordinary brilliance, visual comfort and high efficiency.
Agorà and Crystal are on show until 12 May at the Good Design® Show at the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies in Athens.
At Light + Building 2024 iGuzzini showed more than 13,000 guests our extraordinary vision of light: Light that moves.
Light that is increasingly better connected and more integrated. That cares for the environment and for people. That harmoniously encompasses every part of everyday life, from living to working, from intimacy to community.
The novelties presented emerge from a precise and evolved idea of light.
Light that is synonymous with technological innovation and integration into the architecture with Filorail, the smallest track in the world with an opening of just 3.6 mm and miniaturised hooks, to accommodate different types of products; among these is the Newfo spotlight, with its soft but solid shape, between a circle and a square, a tribute to Ufo born in 1977.
Light that is synonymous with visual comfort, uniformity, spaciousness and efficiency, thanks to Optidiamond and Optibeam optics made in the Italian factory in Recanati.
We introduced the concept of biophilic design with Light Shed Linen, the professional workplace lighting product made of linen.
We showcased a light that combines high design and performance at their best.
Light that illuminates art and beauty, light as art, that adapts to the shapes of works or objects. Light in motion that brushes the architecture of infinite lighting effects.
Because Light That Moves is light that moves spaces, culture, ideas.
Introducing Filorail, the new recessed track with an ultra-thin opening of only 3.6 millimetres. Thin, sinuous, nimble. It runs on horizontal and vertical surfaces like an invisible thread, drawing straight or curved lines.
Filorail gives life to a futuristic vision in which technology is integrated in an imperceptible way with architecture, creates a harmonious combination of innovation and design, responding to the needs of those who live spaces, without interfering with the aesthetic experience. A technological presence evident only in its effectiveness, not in its visibility.
At Light + Building 2024 iGuzzini presents Filorail, the electrified track that blends invisibly into the architecture, thanks to an opening of just 3.6 millimetres.
The task of an electrified track is to disappear, to blend in, to perform its functions inconspicuously. It is a useful and intelligent component, but really difficult to sublimate aesthetically within a space.
Filorail is the decisive product: a technological presence, evident only in its effectiveness, not in its visibility. The micro-connections allow it to accommodate spots or other lighting systems, leaving them centre stage.
Filorail is a structural graft, a new basis for designing museum and exhibition spaces. But it is also a solution that opens new perspectives of interpretation for the interior design of living, retail and hospitality spaces, because it combines the mimetic attitude of the system with the great luminous performance of iGuzzini lighting systems. It is a product designed to freely use technology within any living environment, without adding formal contents typical of the professional world.
The lighting systems that can be combined with Filorail low voltage are Newfo, Libera pendant, Palco LV, Robin, Laser Blade XS and Laser.
Come and discover Filorail at Light + Building 2024.

Biophilic design makes us happier and healthier by reinforcing our connection with the natural world. Facilitating the intake of natural light, which changes throughout the day and seasons, is a fundamental principle of biophilic design.
Pleasant, embracing, comfortable light. The rich distribution of Light Shed Linen light emission increases the perception of space by balancing luminance on different planes and helping achieve optimum horizontal and vertical semi-cylindrical lighting levels. UGR<19.
Light Shed Linen offers a significant increase towards circularity by reducing the environmental impact of the product body with more natural, renewable materials that are lighter (-46%*) and more responsible. The high efficiency and intelligence of the system also optimizes the usage phase, which affects 90% of the total environmental impact.
A sensor built into the Light Shed Linen luminaire activates artificial light only when natural light needs replacing. And the light it uses is equally good, variable, comfortable, pleasant and sustainable with an efficiency level of up to 136 lm/W.
Thanks to beacons integrated in smart devices, digital information, like push notifications, can be sent, indoor navigation can be enabled and space management data collected directly on your smartphone, thanks to Organic Response sensors.
Light Shed Linen is designed to integrate a loudspeaker, camera or environment sensor, to make spaces safer and more pleasant in every respect.
