Making Moves: Gabriel Scott Relocating London Showroom
Canadian luxury handmade furniture and lighting brand Gabriel Scott unveils a new lighting collection, the Welles Reimagined series, a collaboration with David Rockwell.

Commemorating Gabriel Scott’s iconic Welles chandelier, the David Rockwell capsule lighting collection pays homage to the classic geometric form of the Welles Chandelier while infusing it with a contemporary twist inspired by natural clusters such as crystals, chemical compounds, and clouds.

Drawing from botanical shapes, Rockwell crafted an organic amalgamation where hollowed glass polygons serve as luminous metallic focal points, gathering at various heights and dimensions to form mesmerizing suspended clusters. Defined by its opulent volume and organic allure, this flagship chandelier epitomizes luxury.

The collection debuts with a stunning array of glass finishes, including Smoked, Purple, Alabaster White, Bronze, and Clear. This diverse selection allows for flexible mixing and matching of finishes to suit individual preferences, greatly enhancing customization options for discerning clientele. These new glass finishes are seamlessly integrated across the entire Welles Reimagined by David Rockwell lighting series, which includes chandeliers, pendants, and sconces.

Scott Richler, Founder and CEO of Gabriel Scott, reflects on the lighting collaboration: “Gabriel Scott was founded on a commitment to provide the architectural community with precisely tailored solutions, a vision we continue to uphold through meticulous attention to materials, dimensions, and forms twelve years later. Inspired by the elegance of jewelry, the Welles Chandelier epitomizes our design philosophy—to create modular products customizable to exact specifications. The Welles Reimagined by David Rockwell capsule collection stands as a sculptural masterpiece, and we are thrilled to augment its allure with additional glass finish options in our standard series. Our clients value choice and personalization, and this expansion epitomizes our commitment to meeting their diverse needs.”

David Rockwell shares his perspective on the collaboration: “Our partnership enabled the creation of something truly exceptional, blending Gabriel Scott’s modular lighting approach and impeccable craftsmanship with our emphasis on narrative and materiality. Through experimentation with volume, color, texture, and scale, we crafted organic compositions of light that profoundly influence ambiance and spatial perception.”

The Welles Reimagined lighting series is showcased at Gabriel Scott’s London showroom, as well as at partner showrooms such as Lightbox in New Delhi and Obegi in Dubai. The entire collection can also be viewed on Gabriel Scott’s website and is conveniently available for worldwide shipping.
