Elevate your surroundings with a new masterpiece, as Louis Poulsen presents the PH 2/1 Table Lamp in a limited edition from 1 October 2024 to the end of the year. This classic design by Poul Henningsen features dusty terracotta-coloured glass shades with white sandblasted undersides on an aged brass frame, offering warmth, elegance and impeccable lighting to any setting.

Poul Henningsen endeavoured to create glare-free light, direct light where it was most needed, and create soft shadows, using incandescent bulbs as a light source. Henningsen’s mathematic approach to lighting, using the logarithmic spiral, led to the development of the three-shade system in 1925-6 and the following product family, which over the years has included hundreds of different models, ranging from floor lamps to table lamps, pendants, chandeliers and wall lamps.

The PH 2/1 Limited Edition 2024 is a petite version of the classic table lamp, with mouth-blown four-layered coloured glass-shades and stem and base made of lacquered aged brass. The lamp is a wonderful statement piece to add to the home, that takes its inspiration from Henningsen's original lamps designed throughout the 1920s-40s.

This small portable lamp, which takes its name from the Japanese word for light, is an exceptional example of design to shape light. In the words of it's designer, Oki Sato, "Tomoshi allows light to be freely placed, hooked, and carried elsewhere, evokes a sense of nostalgia and familiarity, while at the same time bringing freshness to our daily lives." The design blends a clean and minimalist aesthetic, with soft curves and subtle details.

Tomoshi is characterised by classic design elements from both Japan and Scandinavia, combining clean and minimalistic aesthetics with soft curves and subtle details. According to designer Oki Sato, the attention to detail is what makes the lamp extraordinary.

The visually pleasing Tomoshi is also pleasant to touch, handle and hold. The matte leather strap is exceptionally smooth, the lamp's surface is silky and matte, and the flat button clicks perfectly. Everything about the lamp is pleasingly tactile, adding to its high-quality feel.
