Vyv is a health tech company that has created proprietary continuous-use antimicrobial light technology for homes, public places, and industry. Meeting international standards for continual and unrestricted use around people, pets and plants, unlike UV light, the company’s LED technology creates environments that are inhospitable to the growth of bacteria, fungi, yeast, mold and mildew. Our technology can be found in healthcare facilities, the travel industry, food manufacturing and services, pharmaceutical manufacturing, retail, commercial and public buildings and many other places as overhead lighting. The company’s technology is also embedded into consumer and residential products, shower lights that prevent mold growth, behind cleaner elevator buttons and many other diverse and creative products and solutions.
At Vyv, it all started with a bright idea stemming from an all too common personal experience with germ challenges. Our CEO, Colleen Costello, experienced her grandmother contract an unexpected and preventable MRSA infection in a hospital during what was supposed to be routine single night stay. After deep research and review of the underlying challenges and limitations causing these significant issues, it became apparent that this was not an isolated incident. She and a team of engineers turned their attention to developing smarter ways to manage bacteria levels and subsequently developed Vyv’s proprietary continuous antimicrobial light technology.
What has emerged from this bright idea are new ways to apply antimicrobial light, which also provides high quality illumination, in a way that can overcome the limitation of common intermittent cleaning options. As from day one, our team remains dedicated and focused on ways to make our world a cleaner and safer place in planet-friendly ways.
